    Is there a way to make the vibration of the crf less...vibratey?

    • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion 2 дні тому

      I'm sure you could find an anti-vibe bar clamp or something.. But for proper context, we didn't really notice the vibrations very much until after riding the KLX.. So by comparison it vibrates more but it's not something I'd spend money on trying to fix...Do you already have a CRF?

    • @TheObsessiveGardener
      @TheObsessiveGardener 2 дні тому

      @DirtObseXXion no I don't. I used to want a klx but I thought it was taller than the crf. So I started focusing more closely on the crf. I'm 5'8". Planning on buying possibly by next summer.

      @TheObsessiveGardener Sweet.. Yeah you really can't go wrong either way. Don't let the vibration comment scare you.. It's really not a problem, just an observation.. Ride a Harley sometime and you'll experience extreme vibrations 🤣

    Dude, I love this! So nostalgic! Everything you said is spot on. Now we have things with more horses than a Texan ranch, weighs more than a single-wide trailer, has more gadgets than a plutonium farm, and costs slightly south of an original Leonardo. Yet, smiles per gallon is unequal. There is something to be said about a ride that wants to kill you every time you put your leg over the seat. The old Honda 125 that didn't have shocks is a great example; it's only 3 mph off from probably being the worlds most notorious serial killer. Anyway, keep up the awesome vids. I often wait a few months just so I can binge your channel. Cheers from KY.

    Reliability is always my priority when it comes to trail riding or do farm work. The most annoying thing that can happen to any trail rider is when the machine just stops working. Honda and yamaha never let me down yet. Dirt bikes, atv no problem at all. I have a china made dirtbike, I was running 80 miles per hour or higher in a tunnel. And the machine just stopped, I don't know why. lols I feel like I am going to die.lols Cars running so fast, It was scary. So I always choose Honda or yamaha. These 2 brands work for me.

    I wish aftermarket performance companies in the companies that make these ATVs and dirt bikes and other machines wouldn't give up on them and stop producing parts it's a shame it's the aftermarket and the factory Captain's machines in the back of their mind When developing new products all these old machines would be able to be maintained on a regular and you could put parts on them that would make them equal with the ATVs in Machinery coming out today

      More like clutchless.. You still shift, the biggest advantage in racing is that it won't stall at low RPM, but you still downshift to stay in the torque and you can still use the clutch to control power and smooth out the shifts..

    • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion 15 днів тому

      Yeah coming from quads would definitely influence our perspective.. Ive personally spent a lot more time on the CRF, so I naturally prefer it because of familiarity.. All we were really trying to do is explain the difference in feel and riding experience.. We've heard people say that these bikes feel almost identical and that's definitely not true.. There's subtle differences that could help folks decide which bike is more suited to their preference.. If you have both you know they don't feel the same..

    • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion 15 днів тому

      Yeah, as far as what we're doing on the weekends for fun now it's pretty much Adventure bikes and dual sports.. The Viking still races quads in IXCR.. The bikes opened up a lot of new riding opportunities for us.. We can go to more places and those places are a lot less crowded. Dual sports are super fun, in some ways they're alot more fun than quads.. Being street legal is what opens up more riding opportunities for us.. The only thing I miss sometimes is really hammering on a quad.. I think a dual sport is the bike equivalent of a 4x4 ATV.. Super fun but it has some limitations for straight up trail shredding.. A lot of that is my limitations as a rider too, but it's fun doing something different for a change..

    • @getwrecked488
      @getwrecked488 11 днів тому

      Street legal being the key….. would open up a whole new world. Have a buddy trying to talk me into one….. they do everything from trail riding to gravel logging/forest mountain roads to long distance paved highway trips, with one bike! Sounds pretty exciting to me, have done atv’s & side x sides for yrs and still fun but limited to where you can go. Many Tks and keep up the excellent work!!!

      Yeah brother.. It's normally one or a combination of 3 possible things.. The fuel system is crazy.. 1st thing to check is the swirl filter under the tank, that gets clogged easily.. Mine looked like a used coffee pouch.. They're fairly easy to replace.. Next is the fuel pump by the riders left leg, the filter on that can get clogged as well and last is the injector which is under the as well towards the seat.. It could be any one or combination of those things.. The swirl filter and injector are fairly cheap, a pump is on the higher side. Good luck 👍

    I picked up a 2024 a few weeks back. And absolutely no buyers remorse. I actually feel bad for the bike because I don't have any trails where I live. The 2024 KLX300, with me a 240lbs rider, gets on average 56mpg as well. It actually gets worse mpg on the highway than it does on gravel or city. But with 56mpg and 2 gallons of gas, I don't find myself stressing out over how much I have left. As long as you reset your trip A or B each time you fuel up, you should be just fine to go where ever you want to go and then some. I rode in a storm the other night and she took it like a champ. The stock tires rode just fine on wet roads. I'd say the one complaint I do have is the gearing for on road use. But I can't complain about it because I bought a damn dirtbike with lights. What else can you expect? But overall, if you're a new rider or new to dualsports. I highly recommend the KLX300. 400ish miles in 3 weeks. Probably rode the bike 5 times total so far. And she just eats everything like a pig.

    • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion 21 день тому

      Congratulations on the new bike! One thing we noticed on the klx is that gas mileage seems to improve after the break in period, so you may notice a little more range over the next few months!

    Great review! I own the Rally model for what I do most, but if I was in the woods I would have the Kawi Enduro platform for all the reasons you highlighted (esp stock suspension). Could the higher center of gravity you noted on the Honda be the larger tank you added? Regarding low end torque, it could be larger rear sprocket on the KLX. I did go up to a 42T rear on my CRF and it behaves much better on "wide" single track and woods roads. Nice work and thorough summary!

    • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion 23 дні тому

      Thanks! As far as the high center of gravity being the tank- not entirely.. It's mainly a difference in how the weight is distributed.. KLX weight is low, the crf weight feels more evenly distributed.. It makes the crf feel lighter overall and super flickable, but on slower and rougher trails the klx feels more stable.. Ive personally ridden the crf more, so I prefer it, but I think that's familiarity bias.. We're having a lot of fun on both these bikes tho! The Rally is definitely sweet!

    The CRF300L is not viable long term option. The rear shock is a pogo stick, the radiators bend easy, slipper clutch has longevity issue. in stock form CRF300L is comparable to Versys 300. These small dual sports do not need larger fuel tank. Fuel bladder is better, gives you more range without sacrificing agility. Most after market parts are time vampire and cash dump.

    I have a 22 SE and was just in the market for another 4x4 quad. Bought a 24 standard, couldn't beat the 10k otd price I got and having to replace the Zilla tires immediately made the choice even easier. I know they look awesome but being pelted by rocks all day long sucks. The weight and reliability of the Grizzly can't be matched, that's why I own 2 and not one and one of another brand. Plus the ride and handling is just awesome. 10 year belt, real 4x4 with locker, separate front and rear brakes. I know SxS's are the thing now, owned a few myself, but I haven't seen a hold over Grizzly even advertised here in the Pacific Northwest in years. Heck it's almost impossible to get a current year they sell so fast. Driving doesn't compare to riding.

    I know this is an old video but the rumor is Yamaha finally filed for a patent for a 1000CC ATV! I have a problem free '19 XP1000 but I'm a yamaha fan boy since a kid.....If it's true, the Polaris is getting traded in.👍

      Yeah I saw an article for a patent on a twin but not necessarily a 1000... Time will tell if that actually means anything.. It would have a long way to go before production so don't list that unicorn XP just yet
